This month, our thanks go to Play For Planet, for their spectacular fundraising gig at Fuel Cafe Bar in Withington.
For many women in our community, music is such an important part of their lives, bringing joy, togetherness and memories of home. So what better way to raise funds for WAST than with a very special one-off night of music and community spirit?
Based in Manchester, Play For Planet put on “DIY gigs for good”, raising funds for local and grassroots charities. So we were thrilled when they got in touch to ask if they could fundraise for us.
It was a wonderful gig, with live music from Abbie Ozard, Yasmin Coe, Lula Gold and Carolyn, raising over £500 for WAST!
Thank you so much to everyone who bought tickets or donated funds on the night – your support will make a huge difference in the lives of the women and children who are part of our WAST community. Not least by supporting our Destitution to Dignity campaign efforts, to make sure vulnerable women asylum seekers can eat and don’t have to sleep on the streets.
And, of course, HUGE thanks to Play For Planet for making all of this possible and for choosing to support WAST. It means so much to all of us.
