Donations needed for our sewing group

Every fortnight women from our network joined together to get creative and learn new skills at our sewing group. Sadly the pandemic put a stop our group and we have to meet for almost three years until we received funding from Blue Thread to provide a hot meal for the women and pay for travel costs.

The group gives the women the opportunity to learn sewing skills, make their own clothes and spend time talking with other women providing much needed support for their wellbeing.

We are ready to start back our sewing group back up again but we need your help to make it happen! Can you help us with donations of the following items?

  • Fabric

  • Wool

  • Threads

  • Knitting needles

  • New or in very good condition sewing machines

  • Tape measures

  • Rotary Cutters

  • Tailors shears

  • Pins, sewing needles, safety pins

If you would like to help women seeking asylum have three-hours every two weeks to learn new skills, meet new people and support their wellbeing then you can support our donation drive in three different ways. You can:

  1. Drop off new or very good condition used sewing supplies to WAST by emailing Eunice, our Grassroots Coordinator

  2. Purchase an item from our Sewing Group Amazon wish list and it will be delivered straight to us

  3. Make a donation to us online

Thank you for your support!
